Terms of Service

Last updated 11 October 2026

Draft: set LEGAL_NAME, LEGAL_COUNTRY and CONTACT_EMAIL before taking payments.

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL_NAME] ("we", "us"), who runs Outlier. By creating an account or using Outlier you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Outlier does

Outlier compares your thumbnail and title drafts with public YouTube videos in your niche and explains, with the help of AI models, what the closest high-performing videos have in common and what you could change. It is a decision aid, not a promise: we don't guarantee views, clicks, revenue or any other result, and AI-written analysis can be wrong. Use your own judgment before you publish.

Outlier is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

2. Your account

  • You sign in with your email address (or Google, where offered). Keep access to that inbox secure; anyone who can open your sign-in emails can use your account.
  • You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, and able to enter a binding contract.
  • One account is for one person or one business. Don't share an account to get around plan limits.

3. Plans, billing and auto-renewal

The Free plan includes 3 scans a month and needs no card. Paid plans (Creator $12, Pro $29, Agency $79 per month, in US dollars) are monthly subscriptions. Taxes may be added where required.

  • Paid plans renew automatically every month and are charged in advance to your payment method until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Each plan includes a number of scans per calendar month (and a daily limit to keep the service fast for everyone). Unused scans don't roll over.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a short time and your plan stays active meanwhile. If it still fails, your account moves back to the Free plan.
  • If we change a plan's price, we'll email you at least 14 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

4. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time in Plan & usage → Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then move to the Free plan.

If something went wrong, email [CONTACT_EMAIL] within 7 days of a charge and we'll make it right, including a refund where the service didn't work as described. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including any right to cancel a purchase.

5. Your drafts

You keep all rights to the thumbnails and titles you upload. You give us permission to process them only to run your scans and show you the results. Uploads are sent to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy for that purpose and are not stored on our servers after the scan. We don't use your drafts to train models.

Only upload material you have the right to use.

6. Fair use

Please don't:

  • scrape, copy or resell Outlier's data or results, or use Outlier to build a competing product;
  • access the service with bots or scripts, or try to get around scan limits, rate limits or security;
  • upload anything illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • interfere with the service or other people's use of it.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we close a paid account without it breaking them, we'll refund the unused part of the current period.

7. Our service and data

Outlier, its software, design and the niche data and analysis we compile are ours. Video titles, thumbnails and statistics shown in reports belong to their creators and are shown for reference and analysis, with links back to YouTube.

We work to keep Outlier available and accurate, but we may change, pause or retire features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.

8. Liability

Outlier is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost views, revenue or opportunities, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that can't be excluded by law.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they apply; continuing to use Outlier after that means you accept them. You can stop using Outlier and ask us to delete your account at any time.

10. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [LEGAL_COUNTRY], without taking away any protection the law of the country you live in gives you as a consumer. Questions about these terms: [CONTACT_EMAIL].
